Procedure Description

Botox Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows; glabellar lines; in people 18 to 65 plus years of age.

Botox is a contraction of two words – Botulinum Toxin – It is excreted by a bacterium and it is causes temporary muscle paralysis. The best and the worst thing about Botox is the same thing. Its effect doesn’t last. It is temporary. It works for about three to four months. If you love it – I am sorry – you will have to have it done again. If you hate it – this almost never happens – it goes away on its own with no side effects. You can use Botox with no risk, and see how you love it. You will. It dramatically softens the lines above and between the nose, forehead, and the “crows feet”.

If used regularly it can last up to four to five months. Stopping does not make lines worse. Botox is applied as an injection in an office visit. It takes four to five days for the Botox to have its full effect. The first time we treat you with Botox, we have you come back in two weeks to make sure you are happy with the results.
